FAQ's
- Is my personal information kept private?
Yes. We do not sell, rent or otherwise share your contact details with anyone. Additional protection is described in our privacy policy.
- How is my personal information used?
Your information will only be used to contact the newspapers to remove your address from the delivery list.
- I don't see my local paper I want to stop on your list. What do I do?
If you can't find the paper you are looking for, please help us by adding them in our database. Provide as much information as you can and we will do the rest. Once we have determined their opt-out process we will let you know and update the system for everyone else in the future.
- I looked at my State and there and none of the free papers are listed.
Congratulations you are the first person in your state that has signed up! All you have to do is add the local paper you want stopped and we will so the research and update the database.
- I get more than one free paper delivered, why do I have to enter all my data again?
The system assumes most people only get one paper and so we have no membership where we capture and remember your information.
- Is this service available outside the United States?
No, at this time the service is only available within the US.
- I love this service! How can I help?
The benefits to the users and environment increase dramatically with the growth and popularity of the service. You can help us by spreading the word about our service. This is especially true in your own community. Once a paper has been identified it is super easy for the next person to stop the delivery of their free paper.
- Are you trying to eliminate the Free Local Papers?
Absolutely not! Personally I like the paper, it has great local information and I can frequently find local tradesmen. However, I also care about the environment, the security of my home and my freedom of choice. We just want to make it easy for individuals to choose to stop the delivery of the paper.
- What if I keep getting the Paper?
First try sending the request again through the automated system. If that does not work drop us a line and we will do what we can to help. You do have legal options to have the newspapers stopped.
- Why are we doing this?
The site is sponsored and funded by MyJunkTree. They help people reduce the amount of paper junk mail that comes to their mailbox. This seemed like a natural extension of their service to help people simplify their life and help the environment.
- Does this service cost anything?
The service is FREE! We do have a donate page for people to choose to donate to help offset some of the cost, but it is purely optional.
